It's Thursday morning, 9/22/16, and another beautiful day on the water.  Plan on going 50 miles to Cuba Landing, still on the TN River but just out of KY Lake.  As we move on, we must back up.  None of this journey would have been possible if not for the efforts of Vickie, Nicole and Sunny Evans.
They worked through a tremendous amount of confusion to make sure that we had an IPad that would give us and the boat exactly what was needed.  Ron of Riverpark Marina in Louisville, gave Jimmy, Gary and myself a class on how to use our navigational app, Skipper.  We rely on this all day everyday and Ron furnished paper charts that we use as well.  Thank you very much.

Time to catch up.  We tried to take pic of a bald eagle and a white pelican and neither could pull it off.I think it would be nice to have some wildlife pics.  But we did arrive at Cuba Landing at 4:30.  We tied up next to David Foxworthy, originally from Lexington, KY.  After a dinghy ride, he gave us 2 steaks and we ate like kings.  He also gave us a CD that he recorded some time ago.  He's a really nice guy and so talented.

Later that night, we were visited by Caleb, his parents and his older brother, William.  The seven of us had a great time.

Saturday, 9/24/16
The fog lifted and we're on our way.  An hour after leaving, we realized that we'd forgotten to return the keys to the courtesy car . . .not too courteous on our part.  We called and were told to leave them at our next stop.

We tied up and settled in at Pickwick Landing State Park Marina.  Took a bike ride to get ice and got back after dark.  We made sandwiches and talked to a few people.  I wanted another one, but couldn't find the bread.  Where the hell could it be?  By then I'd lost my appetite, but was determined to find the bread.  It was as though we had a visitor who walked off with it . . . we did.  The visitor returned and scared me to death.  I yelled and scared him away.  Jimmy woke up and asked what happened.  I told him about the raccoon that quietly appeared 2 feet away from me.  We thought that was the end of it, but we were wrong.  As we slept in the cabin, he came back in the cabin and took some instant oatmeal, a jar of peanut butter and other food.  The commotion woke Jimmy up and he saw the pesky creature going out the window.  It wasn't long before he returned again and Jimmy was ready.  Jimmy took his picture as he was about to  climb aboard and the flash scared him away.  WOW ! ! !     a wildlife photo at last.
